We are happy to share with you 'Alexander Lamont's' involvement in this year's Kips Bay Decorator Show House in New York City. The 5 storey, 10,000 sq. foot, renovated townhouse located on East 61st Street is the cumulative work of 21 top design firms, with all proceeds going to the Kips Bay Boys & Girls Club Charity. This is the 44th year for this prestigious American fundraiser that showcases the eclectic, colourful and awe-inspiring creativity of world-renowned interior designers.

Our Amaranth Lamp Table was chosen for the main entryway; a space designed by David Collins Studio. Creative Director, Simon Rawlings was inspired by heritage and his desire to pay tribute to The Studio's earlier work - the 'Blue Bar' at the Berkeley hotel in London. The curving staircase and walls are painted in a new interpretation of the 'Lutyens Blue' panelling by Farrow & Ball using their 'Cooks Blue' paint -  paying tribute to distinguished British architect Sir. Edward Lutyens whose original panelling still clads the hotel's walls. Ceiling pendants designed by Lutyens' grand-daughter, Candia Lutyens accent and further accessorize the room.

With dramatic artwork and bold red furniture artfully placed in the grand entryway, our acclaimed Amaranth Lamp Table, covered with straw marquetry and lustrous natural lacquer is quite at ease in this magnificent space.  You can see more images and read about the show home here and here.

The Kips Bay Decorator Show House is open through June 9, 2016.
